   Job requisitions: The creation of an open position. Hiring managers often initiate new job requisitions, although recruiters can be responsible for creating the job description and list of qualifications.

Sourcing: The channels a recruiter uses to find candidates. Typical sources include online job boards, career sites, agencies, and employee referrals.

Candidate applications/matching: The processes by which job seekers choose to apply for a specific job posting or suitable to be matched to jobs that meet certain criteria.

Screening: The process by which recruiters and/or hiring managers identify which candidates meet the minimum requirements for a job and should be moved to the evaluation stage.
Evaluation: The process by which recruiters and/or hiring managers assess each applicant’s skills, job competencies, experience, culture fit, and other qualifications to determine who is best suited for a specific position.
Offer: The offer of employment to a chosen applicant.
Hire: The acceptance of an offer by an applicant.
